Microtonal Wall – Tristan Perich

It was a very interesting experience that I had when I saw this work in person last summer in MoMA. I would see it as a noise machine embedded in a wall, however is made of very organized sounds – very subtly adjusted to certain frequencies so that they span exactly 4 octaves along the the walkthrough. It’s a work of simplicity and complexity. Each speaker is simple for its components and functionality – just to make one assigned frequency, while 1,500 speakers would speak for a system that requires lots of organization and fine tuning.
